It is unfortunate.. that this week's episode of Ramen Hunters will be our final episode...
After this week we will be parting ways as we all go our separate paths...
We want to thank our viewers for continuously keeping up with our blog as well as our podcast.
It has been our pleasure to introduce the hottest ramen shops on the island.
For our final week, we saved the best for last..
Allow us to introduce Golden Pork Ramen ! They opened up early this year, and is currently the HOTTEST ramen shop in all of Hawaii. Located on S. King St. Golden Pork offers various styles of Tonkotsu ramen. It is popular among both local and Japanese natives that their is constantly a line of ramen lovers waiting outside to slurp some good ramen.
First thing to note about Golden Pork is their atmosphere. The interior is elegant, and clean. At first it may not look like a ramen shop. The utencils, plates, and bowls are very decorative so it is definitely an area to take notice. Ramen shop may not be ideal for a date with your significant other, but Golden Pork will be different!
We would like to first introduce their most popular menu item, The Golden Pork Classic.
This is a ramen we'd recommend to the "first timers". It is an ideal tonkotsu ramen, no question.
A rich creamy soup using broth taken from pork, Nice skinny Hakata style noodles, two slices of char siu. Add an aji tamago in there and theirs nothing more you would ask for.
Golden Pork Classic (Natsumi) |
It was Ramen Hunter Natsumi's first time here at Golden Pork and she tried the classic.
Her comment? Speechless. She said it is exactly how she wants her tonkotsu ramen to taste like.
Keeping it simple, is key. Both the soup and noodles have been perfected that no extra twist is necessary.
On the other hand Ramen Hunter Kei ordered the Spicy Red Miso Ramen.
Kei has been here many times so he tends to switch it up once in a while.
The ramen he ordered is a miso ramen topped with numerous types of spices to give the soup a red color. But this ramen is not that it is just spicy. It still keeps the savory taste from the miso base while adding a ninja kick to your face with some nice spicyness!
Spicy Red Miso Ramen (Kei) |
It may have been a bit too spicy for him to handle but that doesn't stop him.
The whole time Kei kept repeating the words "Oishi" and "Karai!" simultaneously.
Which means "Delicious" and "Spicy!" in Japanese. We all found it pretty funny,
but this ramen is no joke. Many of the customers dining at the time were ordering this ramen so you know its a fan favorite!
Golden Pork also offer many different side orders that are just amazing.
In fact their are a few side items you can order that is actually not on the menu.
The TKG is one, another is the Mentaiko gohan.. Oh! I've mentioned too much
You can check out the video below to find out more~
One more thing ! Golden Pork will give you a stamp card for free. After you complete the 10 stamps on the card you are gifted with one free ramen or tsukemen. Nice deal !
btw.. Ramen Hunter Kei already filled out an entire stamp card, so you all need to go get yours!
